This year Olive Juice Quilts will be offering four levels of Embroidery. This Club level will be for individuals who new to or those feeling the need to continue learn. In the entry level we use the Kimberbell library of projects. Each month a new project will be introduced and completed during the class time. We will be working on embroidery projects like free standing lace; book covers; inserting a zipper into a small bag; embroider by number; wall hanging to mention a few. We will also do design placement on a purchased garment and you will have time to work on your own projects occasionally.

This level is for participates who are ready to learn a few more skills. Olive Juice Quilts is a Digital Dealer for Kimberbell. Through this program there will be new and different projects available by the month to learn and create. Projects at this level will be piecing in the hoop, creating fringe, applique and embellishments, creating dimensional projects and stitching on Kimberbell blanks.

The Kaffe Fassett lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. Kaffe's presentation highlights work from his latest projects, and collaborations, including his patchwork, fabric, needlepoint, mosaics, painting and knitting designs. For 2024, much of the lecture will focus on his latest museum exhibition, The Power of Color and his new book, Kaffe Fassett?s Quilts on an English Farm. Kaffe's inspiration comes from his and Brandon's travels throughout the world. His lecture is designed not so much to instruct but to empower and inspire the audience to create and develop their "mind's eye." Audiences leave invigorated - entranced by Kaffe's sense and use of color; they are ready to try it themselves and are encouraged to do so. The slide show lasts approximately one hour followed by a Q&A session and book signing.

Designing and sewing a Seed Packet Quilt is like planting a garden: browsing the catalogs (stash & LQS), planning the lay out and planting the seeds (working with Kaffe and Brandon and cutting the squares) and watching it grow (sewing your squares,) and finally reaping what you have sown/sewn (wrapping yourself up in your new quilt.) No sewing takes place during the workshop. No sewing machines needed.

Keep your choices harmonious. For example, if you would like to explore RED, bring reds, oranges, reddish purples, magenta, warm brown, etc.
