The Power of Color Inspiration Lecture

The Kaffe Fassett lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. Kaffe’s presentation highlights work from his latest projects, and collaborations, including his patchwork, fabric, needlepoint, mosaics, painting and knitting designs. For 2024, much of the lecture will focus on his latest museum exhibition, The Power of Color and his new book, Kaffe Fassett’s Quilts on an English Farm.

Kaffe's inspiration comes from his and Brandon’s travels throughout the world. His lecture is designed not so much to instruct but to empower and inspire the audience to create and develop their "mind's eye.” Audiences leave invigorated - entranced by Kaffe's sense and use of color; they are ready to try it themselves and are encouraged to do so.

Seed Packet Workshop

Globally, Kaffe Fassett fans have enthusiastically embraced his Seed Packet Quilt. It’s sew much fun to search out bold blooms from your stash and shop for the latest blooms and fruits. Designing and sewing a Seed Packet Quilt is like planting a garden: browsing the catalogs (stash & LQS), planning the lay out and planting the seeds (working with Kaffe and Brandon and cutting the squares) and watching it grow (sewing your squares,) and finally reaping what you have sown/sewn (wrapping yourself up in your new quilt.) No sewing takes place during the workshop. No sewing machines needed.

Country Snowballs Workshop

In this workshop, Kaffe’s traditional snowball quilt block is made fabulous by his color choices. In this workshop, with Kaffe and Brandon’s guidance, you will create your unique Country Snowball Quilt.

Choose your fabrics with an eye to the color or mood you wish to explore. Keep your choices harmonious. For example, if you would like to explore RED, bring reds, oranges, reddish purples, magenta, warm brown, etc.
